As some of you know, I just got an iPhone and I have to say I’m in love! It’s amazing how this tiny little phone can do so much. And now it can help me make better decisions on my food choices and keep me on track to get to my goal weight by 6/15 (109 days away). I tested out an app when I went grocery shopping and holy cow it awesome. Fooducate app helps you figure out if the food you are thinking of getting is right for you.
Here is how it works: You click on the app, and then put your phone up to the bar code on the food you are thinking of purchasing. The app then registers the product, showing you the calories, what the product is, rating on if it’s a healthy food, and breaks down the ingredients as well as shows you what exactly the artificial ones are. But the best function of this app, is it gives you better alternatives to what you just scanned. So, that means, if you have been eating something you thought was good for you and then find out it’s not, this app helps you find something similar that is way better for you. Like I said, amazing!
My next project before I go grocery shopping next week, is to scan everything in my house. If there is a better alternative, then it will be written on the list to buy. Let me know if you try it out and what you think. Happy healthy shopping!
